Accessible Care

Access to Quality Health Care: The Home Care Contribution

This report presents examples of the effectiveness, outcomes and potential of home care as an integral component of an accessible, high quality health care system. It presents three strategies to optimization of the value of the home care sector to our overall health care system and the quality of life for Canadians

Evidence-Based Wound Care: Home Care Perspective

This paper highlights some of the evidence, challenges and opportunities to enhance wound care management within home care. Initiatives undertaken by home care programs across the country are addressed and key success factors identified.

Rehabilitation Therapy Services in Home Care

The focus of this paper is to shed light on the rehabilitation therapy services in home care. Therapists’ interventions are effective at increasing independence, decreasing risk of health deterioration, improving health management, decreasing loss of autonomy and loss of function. Therapists make an important contribution to the health care team and when integrated effectively enhance the care delivery for the client – often a senior.
