Canadian Home Care Human Resources Study

This national human resource study focused on the recruitment, training and development challenges in community and home-based care. A wide range of issues including demographic data of the workforce, recruitment, training, development, retention, work environment and labour market information were examined.

Home Support Workers: HR Strategies to Meet Chronic Care Needs of Canadians

This project examined human resource strategies for home support workers in order to improve Canada’s ability to meet the future demand for formal home care services. The research included 5 provincial consultations, analysis of data from the Nexus Study and survey data from Stats Canada in addition to a comprehensive literature review and provincial / territorial and international human resource strategies.

Valuing Unregulated Health Workers

The CHCA worked on a pan-Canadian committee of seven national health care organizations to explore trends and issues that shape the integration of Unregulated Healthcare Workers within health-care teams.
