Welcome to the CHCA newsletter: CHCA Connect. This newsletter is about partnerships, collaboration and innovation: keeping you up to date on what our members are doing, important events in the sector, and reports or news you may have missed. We are a community, and with this newsletter we hope to bring our community a little bit closer together. The landscape of home and community care is rapidly evolving, driven by an aging population, technological advancements, and the increasing demand for personalized support. At the heart of this transformation lies the critical role of partnerships – collaborations among healthcare providers, technology companies, community organizations, and policymakers – essential for advancing the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of home care services.

Home and community care is more than a service, it’s a lifeline. Every day, caregivers, providers, and policy leaders work tirelessly to ensure Canadians can live with dignity, independence, and comfort in their homes. As Board Chair and CEO of the Canadian Home Care Association (CHCA), we are inspired by the dedication, creativity, and compassion we see across the country, and we are proud to play a role in bringing this national community together.
At CHCA, our mission is to strengthen home and community-based care through advocacy, knowledge sharing, and leadership. We connect providers, caregivers, researchers, and policymakers to improve quality, accessibility, and sustainability. By amplifying voices from across the sector, we help drive innovation, shape policy, and share best practices that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
Our current focus reflects both the challenges and opportunities in home care today. We are prioritizing workforce development, supporting caregivers with education and resources, and exploring innovative models and technologies that modernize care delivery. We are also advocating for policies that enhance accountability, equity, and quality, ensuring the system evolves alongside the growing and complex needs of the people it serves.
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Real progress happens when we share ideas, learn from one another, and combine our expertise. Members, partners, and stakeholders across Canada contribute every day to shaping a stronger, more responsive home care system, and it is this collective effort that will continue to drive meaningful change.
Looking ahead, we are excited to expand learning opportunities, highlight innovations from across the country, and continue engaging the sector in conversations that matter. This newsletter will serve as a space to connect, share insights, and celebrate the work happening in communities nationwide.
Thank you to everyone working in, supporting, or advocating for home and community care. Your dedication is what makes progress possible. I encourage you to engage with CHCA, share your perspectives, and join us as we continue to build a stronger, more sustainable system of care for all Canadians.
